The SA1-RTD surface-mount RTD temperature sensor mounts on flat or curved surfaces and provides Class A accuracy for critical temperature monitoring applications. Based on a 2 x 2 x 0.8 mm thin-film platinum RTD and supplied with bare 3-wire leads as a standard configuration (connector optional), itcan be customized for use in a wide variety of applications. The sensor can be easily applied with its selfadhesive

backing, or positioned permanently with OMEGABOND™ cements.

Use the SA1-RTD to monitor chip, heat sink, and environmental temperatures in electronic devices; check piping or ducting temperatures;monitor motor and transformer core heat; test insulation capabilities; and check other applications in which surface and/or gradient temperatures need to be monitored or controlled.

For a DAQ device with EX0, RTD+, RTD-, and COM ports (such as NI 9217), which wire go to which port? (For both 3-wire and 4-wire RTDs)

Asked by: tackoo
Thank you for your inquiry. COM & RTD- should have 1 Black Wire Each. EX0 & RTD+ should have 1 Red Wire Each.

Is the self adhesive backing easy to remove after a month or so of use? We need to monitor temperatures on piping for a month or so, then the sensors will need to be removed. Working temperature while monitoring will be around 90 degrees c

Asked by: Mikecandu
Thank you for your inquiry. The entire assembly can be removed carefully, but the self-adhesive properties will be lost.

Plan to use this RTD sensor with NI TB-4357 terminal block in a detachable way. Can a plug/connector can be soldered to the wires, then the instrument with the RTD sensor attached can be removed without remove the wires from the NI terminal block?

Asked by: kleung
The RTD's use regular conductors Nickel plated Copper so they can be soldered and quick attach connections used.

Is there an expected voltage output chart corresponding to this 4 WIRE-RTD, and wire description to wire the sensor correctly

Asked by: Bobby1
Hi Bobby1, Thank you for the inquiry. The sensor is a resistive element PT100 version. Voltage drop depends on the current applied by the instrument used. Resistance table vs temperature; https://www.omega.co.uk/temperature/Z/pdf/z252-254.pdf SA1-RTD uses standard lead wire color code. Best to refer to instrumentation used to determine proper wiring. For more details on RTD wiring; https://www.omega.co.uk/temperature/Z/ResistanceElements.html Best regards OMEGA

Does anybody have a recommendation for temperature sensing device to connect to this sensor? One that could connect to a computer, ideally.

Asked by: ap0720
You may want to consider the SA1-RTD-80 with the HH804U handheld meter along with the software HH800-SW (windows software and USB cable) which allows for real time data logging to a PC. For extensive data logging a DC power jack is available HH804U Meter $173.88 each in stock Comes complete with HH804-CONNECTOR (one per channel), protective rubber boot, NIST certificate (no points), 4 “AAA” batteries, and operator’s manual. https://www.omega.com/en-us/sensors-and-sensing-equipment/temperature/thermometers/p/HH804-805 HH800-SW $23.18 in stock Windows software and USB cable (USB models only) https://www.omega.com/en-us/sensors-and-sensing-equipment/temperature/thermometers/p/HH800-SW HH800-ADAPTOR $20.09 each in stock https://www.omega.com/en-us/sensors-and-sensing-equipment/temperature/hygrothermometers/p/HH800-ADAPTOR If a thermocouple can be considered in place of a RTD , for example the SA1-K-72- SRTC is a good option. We offer the Thermocouple Data logger with USB interface the OM-EL-USB-TC which accepts a J, K or T type thermocouple. This plugs directly into a USB Port – No USB cable is required https://www.omega.com/en-us/control-and-monitoring-devices/data-loggers/p/OM-EL-USB-TC-Series and the specifications sheet is: https://br.omega.com/omegaFiles/das/pdf/OM-EL-USB-TC.pdf Thank you for your question.

I am interested in SA1-RTD-4W , The data sheet says that the response time is less than 0.9s response time in water immersion, is this immersible?

Asked by: Aug14
The SA1-RTD cannot be immersed in any fluids. It's only meant to be used in dry and clean surfaces.
