Rated 1 out of 5 by from Untrustworthy calibrations Faked calibration certificate (again). Claims to have been calibrated to 10,000psi using calibration equipment that will go to only 6,000psi

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Word of Caution The product performance was great, but there is a major design flaw. The cable connection option has the cable connected to the body by a nut that if loosened and taken off will break the unit. Whereas the PX409 series differential transducer instead does not have this problem, it has a sealed connection that doesn't allow you to break the unit so easily. The reason I was attempting to take the nut off in the first place was because it was loose and the unit was dunked under water for cleaning so I was trying to make sure the unit would dry out fully before supplying power to the transducer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from compact and reliable Have purchased several of these transducers over the last 10 years and do not recall ever having to replace one due to failure. I usually get the 319 series and my only complaint is that there is no key on the connector to simplify pin alignment. They are also offered a wide range of pressure ratings.

What is the supply current on the PX309 whose output is 100mV?

Asked by: Lourrany
We cannot provide a fixed value for the current draw of the 100mV output version of the PX309 Series. The impedance can widely vary due to the internal components used in the each sensor. The current draw however would be extremely low.

Can the sensor PX213 be used in oxygen enriched environment, e.g. 100% O2 concentration. The question is whether the O2 will be able to enter the electronic part of the sensor or it will be stopped by membrane and if materials are appropriate

Asked by: PAULB
Hello, The PX213 has been discontinued for more than a decade. Please note that the PX213 was not oxygen cleaned or oxygen rated, typically for Oxygen use you will need a sensor that is oxygen cleaned to ensure there is no oil fill/ contaminants that will affect your system. If you have more questions feel free to email us at pressure@dwyeromega.com

Is it possible to connect multiple pressure transmitters with each of there readout meters into one PC? How to do the cabling and wiring?

Asked by: Ocochem
Assuming that you would be using the 4 to 20mA output version on the PX309 you can simply break the connect of the PX309 and wire the input to the data acquisition you are using with your pc in series with the 4 to 20mA signal from the sensor. If the data acquisition system is designed for a DC voltage input you will need to use a shunt resistor to convert the current signal to voltage.

Does the PX309 or PX359-005GI have adjustable zero and span pots? Also, there was a question earlier about IP65 rating for the M12 connector - where the M12 connector and cable do not maintain IP65 rating - is this the same for the PX309 cable?

Asked by: KC18
There are no zero and span adjustments on any of the variants of the PX309 Series. The PX309 has a permanently attached cable. The IP65 rating is maintained on the PX309

How do I know if my PX359-500A5V contains HNBR o-ring in the wetted pressure port assembly?

Asked by: Myke
We have several suppliers for the 0 to 500 psi sensing element used in the PX309 Series pressure transducer. One of them inadvertently supplied elements with the HNBR O-ring. Unfortunately there no way to identify which units were built use this element without physically cutting unit open the unit which would basically destroy it.

What is the difference between a compound gauge and absolute gauge?

Asked by: jackie270
The compound gauge are measuring a vacuum or positive pressure relative to the atmospheric pressure. The unit has a vent to atmosphere for the reference. The absolute gauge units measure pressure relative to an internal sealed vacuum reference.

The O'ring is necessary to install PX329-100G5V? What is the torque rage to install the PX329-100G5V?

Asked by: ksmaia
There is no O-ring used on a NPT fitting. You would typically use teflon tape (plumber's tape wrapped around the threads before you install it into the mating female thread connection. You do not torque a npt fitting. You would hand tighten the connection and the use a wrench to tighten it just enough so it doesn't leak

Is the PX359 compatible with Helium?

Asked by: YJSP E
The wetted parts of the PX309/319/329/359 pressure transducers all stainless so media compatibility would not be an issue. The only possible issue the be getting a good seal on the 1/4-18 NPT thread on the process connection when using it with helium. Normally you would use teflon plumber's tape to seal the thread connection

Can this transducer be used with a 24Vdc power supply?

Asked by: nrebers
Thank you for contacting Omega Engineering with your question. The PX309 series transducers are available several different output types and not all of them can operate on 24 Vdc. If the model in questions has a 0-5 Vdc, 0-10 Vdc, or 4-20 mA output then yes, they can operate on 24 volts. If it is one with a millivolt output, then the excitation voltage would be 5 or 10 Vdc depending on the pressure range. Please feel free to contact us again if you have any other questions.

If I need to measure pressures at 0.05 psia, what pressure transducer would you recommend? Note that I need to make pressure measurements in a vacuum chamber.
