What does the output +/-3mV/V mean? does it mean that for an excitation voltage of 9V the maximum output is +/-27mV?

Asked by: irf20
thanks for the inquiry That is correct. This unit is ratio metric therefore as the excitation changes so would the total output.

How short can the cable that comes with the load cell be? It's really long for our application. Thank you.

Asked by: datsunzcr
Standard cable length is 20'. We suggest you simply coil up the cable and secure it. Do not cut the cable. This could possible effect the calibration and it will void the warranty.

Is the thread count and diameter same for all joints?

Asked by: Aneesh
Aneesh, thank you for contacting Omega Engineering. I believe you are asking about the internal thread count on the load cell. Each load cell will have its own thread size and count based on the range. If you are looking at the LC103B-500 the threads will be 1/2-20UNF. If you need more information kindly email pressure@omega.com

The LC101 page says that series is being replaced by the new and improved LC103B series. What is improved? LC103B appears to have greater error (linearity, hysteresis, repeatability) but is bi-directional for less than half the cost. Is that it?

Asked by: Tester
You are correct. Combined accuracy calculation for LC103B does work out to 0.060% opposed to 0.037% of the LC101. We should consider calling this load cell a more economical replacement of LC101 rather than an improved version.

My lab apparatus, including a stirrer, motor and measuring equipment (sensors) weighs about 50 - 60 kg. The mass of feed material (plastic and sand) is about 200 g. I want to measure the mass drop (1 g or less) as vapor forms. Would that be possible?

Asked by: RALS
Thank you for your questionT Please feel free to give us a call at (203) 359-1660 or email pressure@omega.com and we would be happy to discuss your specific application and provide you with the right product for your specifications.
