Rated 5 out of 5 by from Irreplaceable Tool Needed The Omega RTD Handheld Data Logger Thermometer allows us to retrieve the data we need to fine tune our testing systems. We use it here at an engineering firm where we design and manufacture advanced testing systems for material characterization. We consider the RTD Thermometer an irreplaceable tool we need to do our job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High accuracy and inexpensive Great little handheld with 2 digits of precision after the decimal. Data logging for charting responses, easy connect to computer for download of data. We use it to monitor differential temps near 100C and it’s very repeatable. Also nice is the 120V adapter so no worry about battery life. Highly recommend.

Is this available with a NIST traceable calibration cert? If so, how many points are included in the calibration?

Asked by: Patrick S
The meter can be offered with a CAL-3 which is a 3 temperature point calibration part # HH376-CAL-3.

please provide accuracy calculation for data logger with the probe? I have calculated accuracy by using the formula given in the below answer where I'm getting answer +/- 1.25°C @ 400°C.

Asked by: bhakti
Your value is correct and here is the calculation: +/-(0.15+.002(400C)) + 0.3C = 1.25C probe plus meter accuracy

I see that the probe is stamped with a -100C to +400C range. Does this include the plastic handle and part of the cable, or just the metal probe tip? If not the whole thing, what temperature can the probe handle tolerate?

Asked by: listeningnick
Thank you for the inquiry. Max service temperature of the handle is 80 C. The 400 C limit is for the tip of the probe. Best regards OMEGA

Hi is there any documentation available for the rs232 protocol spec? It'd be nice to be able to write our own custom software in say python.

Asked by: jackie277
The serial communication protocol may be available and contact the Temperature Engineering group at temp@omega.com for further assistance.

At (23 ±5°C) : Range Accuracy: -100 to 400°C ±(0.05% reading + 0.1°C); -148 to 752°F ±(0.05% reading + 0.2°F) Is accuracy unit and probe, or unit only?

Asked by: DavNH
Hi DavNH, Thank you for the inquiry. Accuracy is for the meter only. Probe is accuracy class A ( 0.15 C +/- 0.2 % of reading) Best regards OMEGA

Is there an equivalent OTS connector for this device? I am looking to create my own probe and the omega connector is out of stock.

Asked by: jsapers
Omega does not sell the connector as an accessory and only the entire probe is sold separately. Omega does not have the part number to buy the connector from another source.
